I have returned to the event and memory in the everyday mainly through travel. The soft orange pink tones in the ground reference a coach journey made through a dark and misty Germany in 2008, illuminated by orange light emitted from the street lamps which created an almost artificial silence. These studies can stand alone or may form the starting point of larger paintings.
